Elite dangerous Alpha Phase IPhase one of the Elite: Dangerous alpha is now live! Alpha backers can now download and play Phase One - Single Player Combat. Once installed you will be able to take to the cockpit of your Sidewinder , with varying weapon loadouts and progress through 8 single player scenarios – initially designed to familiarize players with the controls, gradually increasing in difficulty and complexity.In your first taster of Elite: Dangerous you will be testing aspects of ship control and combat.If you are an existing backer then you will have been sent details explaining how you can access and download this first phase of the Alpha process using your previous login details from the Backer's Web App- if you are a gift recipient then using the 'forgotten password' option will send you instructions to get access to your new account.Thank you again to everyone who has supported us to this point. With Alpha phase 2.0 out (to Alpha backers), David Braben and Michael Brookes executive producer for Elite: Dangerous introduces some of the game mechanics present in the multiplayer experience. Elite: Dangerous is the latest installment of the seminal Elite gaming franchise and has garnered huge support from over 40,000 fans of Elite who have supported development of the game so far with both funding and feedback.There will be two further major Alpha releases to roll out before Elite: Dangerous reaches Premium Beta stage.Alpha Phase 2.0 - Multiplayer provides backers the opportunity to play against each other in four distinct multiplayer scenarios:• Free-for-all melee• Pick your side in a two-team melee• Co-operative defense of a crippled Federal battlecruiser• A more sophisticated 'Pirates and Bounty Hunters' mode which hints at the fluid choices and roles players will experience on a much greater scale in the final game.Credits can be earned in each scenario and used to purchase new ship loadouts.Frontier's Elite: Dangerous Alpha program has been created to engage with the game's Alpha backers, enabling the team to respond to feedback, add features and balance the game to make it the best it can possibly be.The Alpha program can be joined now via the Elite: Dangerous online store at http://elite.frontier.co.uk
Welcome to the 11th progress diary, where we cover the new features in Alpha 3 including the famed Coriolis starport where you can outfit your ship or purchase a brand new Cobra Mk III!Starport features include: • Outfit your ship with new modules such as heat sinks, cargo scanners and a variety of weapons• Upgrade your weapons and repair any damage using the credits you have earned from the locations • Clear bounties earned when committing crimes The consequences of combat now also have a price.
